Manchester United’s set-piece prowess powered them to a 3-2 victory against Ipswich despite playing with ten men for over a half.
Man Utd gave Everton deja vu as they began with a comical miscommunication between Dorgu and Onana to hand Ipswich an early lead.
Fortunately, they didn’t wait till the second half to stage a comeback, scoring via two set-pieces- an own goal and a De Ligt goal- to reverse it.
Dorgu’s eventful evening came to an early end after a VAR review saw him sent off and Ipswich equalised immediately after to end a breathless first half.
The second half started on the same note, with Harry Maguire restoring United’s lead via a corner. Ipswich threatened in waves but United kept them at arm’s length to secure a gritty win.

Here’s how the players rated-
Andre Onana – 2
Mix-up with Dorgu for the first and dived pointlessly for the second to add to misplaced passes. A nightmare.
Leny Yoro – 6.5
Tried to replicate Lisandro Martinez’s skills by bombing forward and did an appreciable job.
Harry Maguire – 7
Not at fault for any goal and scored his first league goal of the season with a nice header.
Matthijs de Ligt – 6.5
Scored United’s second but could’ve been more assertive with Liam Delap on occasion.
Diogo Dalot – 4
Played on both sides in the first half alone due to Dorgu’s sending-off and didn’t impress on either.
Patrick Dorgu – 2
Mixed moments of madness with glimpses of hope but an early shower can’t be rated well.
Manuel Ugarte – 6
Made his usual tackles and interceptions but the team needed more on the ball.
Bruno Fernandes – 9
Played defender, midfielder, and attacker all at once. His set-pieces were United’s biggest threat and his running was that of a man possessed.
Joshua Zirkzee – 6.5
Started uncertainly but grew into it. Strong hold-up and link-up play.
Alejandro Garnacho – 6
Provided a laborious United with thrust and running but wrongly sacrificed after Dorgu’s red.
Rasmus Hojlund – 2
Should’ve come off instead of Garnacho. Wasted again up top and devoid of confidence.

Substitutes
Noussair Mazraoui – 6.5
Unexpectedly thrown into the deep end with a knock but fared really well.
Casemiro – 6.5
Ipswich attacked in waves and he did his job to repel it.
Christian Eriksen – 6
Came on in added time.
Victor Lindelof – 6
Same as Eriksen.
