Isak Hansen-Aaroen makes Manchester United academy comeback
Isak Hansen-Aaroen has made his first Manchester United academy appearance of the season.
The Norwegian featured for United’s under-18s in a win over Newcastle United.
Hansen-Aaroen was named as part of a three man midfield alongside Kobbie Mainoo and Daniel Gore.
It did not take long for him to make an impact. Hansen-Aaroen provided an assist in the 5-0 victory with a short pass to set up Joe Hugill.
Exciting talent
Hansen-Aaroen featured for the under-23s in pre-season before picking up a minor injury which delayed his 2021/22 season.
For now the Norwegian, 17, is back with the under-18 squad although that could change.
Joe Hugill, usually with the 23s, also dropped down at the weekend and started for the 18s.
Hansen-Aaroen made his competitive under-23 debut at the end of last season and United will move the 17-year-old up when he is ready.
The teenager was an outstanding player last season for the 18s as United’s young side came within one point of winning the title.
Getting him back is a major boost for a side which has now won four consecutive league and cup games.
Hansen-Aaroen had a very impressive winning record last season, winning 15 of the 16 league matches he played.
It was no surprise to see that very strong record continue as his 2021/22 campaign finally gets underway.
