Ralf Rangnick looks all set to become Manchester United’s interim manager.
After that, he will move into a role behind the scenes so it is fair to say that he should have a major say in the club’s recruitment moving forward.
One of Rangnick’s previous roles was director of football at RB Salzburg, and we’ve looked at three players he could use his connections at his former club to bring to Old Trafford.

Karim Adeyemi
Adeyemi has been Salzburg’s star man so far this season, scoring 15 goals in 24 games across all competitions.
That includes three goals in five Champions League games as the German 19-year-old makes an impression on European football’s biggest stage.
He is a dangerous, versatile forward with a bright future ahead of him.
Salzburg president Harald Lurzer has admitted that Adeyemi will leave the club next year, and there is interest from other English clubs.
Roko Simic
Simic is another teenager with a huge future in the game. He has already been branded the ‘new Erling Haaland’.
Again, there is already interest from England in a striker who has nine goals in 16 reserve and youth games this season.
He has already made his Champions League debut too, and while he is more raw than Adeyemi, he will be the next one to explode, in all likelihood.
Noah Okafor
Okafor, 21, is another young forward shining in Salzburg right now.
He recently helped Switzerland qualify for the World Cup ahead of European Champions Italy.
The striker has nine goals and five assists in 21 Salzburg games this term and while Adeyemi has maybe grabbed more headlines, Okafor is hugely impressive too.
Manchester City were linked in January 2020 before he moved to Salzburg and beating Pep Guardiola to a talented young hitman would be a good early move for Rangnick.
