Sander Berge will only sign for Man Utd this summer under one condition

Manchester United have a list of midfield targets this summer. One of them is Fulham’s Sander Berge, who is representing Norway at the World Cup.

There isn’t a shortage of potential midfield signings for Manchester United following Casemiro’s exit. The Brazil veteran is expected to join Inter Miami after his contract at Old Trafford expired.

It remains to be seen if Mateus Fernandes will sign for United, with Tottenham advancing on a deal for the Portuguese starlet, while Aurelien Tchouameni’s future at Real Madrid is in doubt.

United have other targets, too. Many of whom are playing in the Premier League, including Norwegian midfielder Sander Berge.

Man Utd see value in Sander Berge deal

Although Berge has plenty of Premier League experience, which will appeal to United, the Norway international is not at the top of United’s wish list.

United continue to weigh up their options, with a deal agreed with Atalanta for Ederson. The Brazilian midfielder is expected to sign for the Reds after the 2026 World Cup.

Berge is also competing at the World Cup, but Ben Jacobs says he will only sign for United under one circumstance.

That is, if United get another big-name midfielder first and he comes in as a third option on an economic deal.

Jacobs told The United Stand: “[Berge is] just another option.

“Somebody that’s been considered but not a primary target, not a name that Manchester United are going to go for at the expense of others.

“The kind of name that falls more into the category of that third midfielder, where if Man United get another big name with proven Premier League experience, and they want one more, that’s a deal that could be done more economically.”

This means United think a deal for Berge has the potential to be economically friendly.

Sander Berge’s Norway take on France for top spot

It’s another big night in the World Cup.

With Norway and France already safely through to the knockout phase of the World Cup, the winner of their encounter will top the group.

Both sides are in great form, but Berge will have to shield Norway’s defence against a France side that boasts some of the best attacking players in the world.

It will be intriguing to see how Berge deals with the French.
