Ruben Amorim’s AC Milan make move for Ederson after Man United deal collapse

Manchester United will not be signing Ederson this summer, but former head coach Ruben Amorim might pounce on the opportunity.

A £38 million agreement for Ederson was struck by Manchester United at the start of June, but the Red Devils ended up completing a sharp U-turn.

After a thorough medical check on Ederson, United called off the deal, meaning the 26-year-old midfielder is set to return to Atalanta.

United have now moved on to Ederson alternatives, meaning other clubs are free to make a move for the Brazil international. That includes Ruben Amorim’s AC Milan.

AC Milan are exploring Ederson deal

According to journalist Nicolo Schira, AC Milan have asked Atalanta about Ederson and have explored possible conditions with the player’s agent.

Atalanta insist that Ederson is fully fit despite United cancelling their deal after conducting medical checks.

Amorim has been linked to United stars since taking charge of Milan, but it seems his next target could be Ederson after his move collapsed.

Man United will be pleased with Ederson outcome

Even when the deal was set to take place, United fans weren’t keen on Ederson and the signing didn’t drum up excitement in the fanbase.

While Ederson was not set to be a first-choice midfielder for United, as time grew it became a more puzzling deal trying to figure out where he fit in Carrick’s plans.

Instead of risking Ederson and his injury record, United have decided to look elsewhere, and Ineos can be happy with that decision.

Missing out on Elliot Anderson and Mateus Fernandes is a blow, but there are still plenty of exciting targets still on the market.

United have now turned their attention to targets like Manu Kone and Ayyoub Bouaddi, and both of those signings will excite supporters more than Ederson.
