Manchester United’s summer transfer window plans are becoming clearer and they seem to have a Premier League focus.
Over the past few years, shopping in the Premier League has been a rarity for the Red Devils, with Mason Mount being the only one recently to be signed.
However, with first-team ready signings from abroad often struggling, Ineos are targeting a domestic-centric window, at least in terms of big-money signings, with a number of players already linked to 14th place Manchester United.

In the attacking roles primarily, some of the most exciting names in the division are being talked up for a move to Old Trafford. This has saw United linked with signing both Liam Delap and Matheus Cunha.
These are two deals which would significantly improve the United frontline under Ruben Amorim, with £52m valued, Rasmus Hojlund and Alejandro Garnacho the likely casualties – with both themselves up for sale this summer if the correct offer arrives.
Now, it has emerged that Amorim has his eyes on another Premier League standout.

Ruben Amorim wants to sign Antoine Semenyo
This season, Bournemouth have been one of the most impressive clubs in the Premier League, which was also likely to result in their best players being linked with moves away..
Dean Huijsen is the name on everybody’s lips right now, but he is one likely unattainable for United with Liverpool and Real Madrid linked. However, Antoine Semenyo is one that could be on the Red Devils’ radar.
Speaking with NBC Sports, David Ornstein has been discussing Bournemouth and revealed that United are one club looking to prove a disruptor to this side by taking their talent, with Semenyo the target.
“And then there is Antoine Semenyo, what a season he has had. He is a player who Manchester United… their manager Ruben Amorim is very fond of.
“They would be looking to sell him for a fee in excess of what they got for Dominic Solanke, which was £65m. There is no release clause. They would want a club record.”
Semenyo has had an impressive campaign for the Cherries, scoring 10 and assisting six in 36 games.
How does Semenyo fit into Manchester United’s system?
The price tag of upwards of £65m for Semenyo does sound a little far-fetched, and probably a figure they are likely to receive less than. But does Semenyo even fit into United’s system?
Semenyo is a very versatile attacker, capable of playing on either flank, but is more a winger than anything else. However, with qualities like his pace and power, Semenyo could be a brilliant option for United as the right-sided winger-back, as his games as a right midfielder show.
How many games has Semenyo played in each position this season?

With Patrick Dorgu the left-sided player for the foreseeable, Semenyo and his right foot could be a real threat down the right side as a replacement for Diogo Dalot.
This could see United field a right side of Semenyo right wing back, Amad Diallo as the right 10, and Leny Yoro as right centre-back – which sounds like a brilliant trio.
It is certainly the correct profile for United, but with the price tag, cheaper options would be preferable, such as Lyon’s Ernest Nuamah, who has similar traits but would cost a fraction.
