Manchester United are pushing ahead in their plans to sign a striker and it seems Benjamin Sesko is at the top of the shopping list.
After missing out on several top targets this window, Manchester United have now set their sights on Benjamin Sesko.
Sesko has been “impressed” by United’s pursuit of his signature this summer, and now the Red Devils are ramping up their interest in the 22-year-old striker.
Sesko is expected to cost around £70m this summer, although United are hoping Leipzig will drop their price. Reports from Germany suggest they may be forced to cash in on the Slovenian star.

RB Leipzig need to raise £86m as Benjamin Sesko talks begin
A fresh report from David Ornstein claims United will prioritise a deal for Sesko this summer over other striker targets such as Ollie Watkins.
Ornstein confirmed that United have made contact over Sesko, with Ineos keen to beat Newcastle United to another transfer target this summer.
German outlet Bild claim that RB Leipzig had internally prepared to sell Sesko this summer after his impressive Bundesliga campaign in 2024/25.
On top of that, there is a need at Leipzig to raise funds this summer with an “internal financial target” of £86m (€100m).
Selling Sesko this summer would achieve a large portion of that financial target, which could encourage the German giants to let him leave.
Man United will rely on sales to afford Benjamin Sesko deal
Having already spent over £130m on Matheus Cunha and Bryan Mbeumo this summer, much of United’s budget has already been depleted.
United have spread the cost of Cunha and Mbeumo, meaning only a portion of their fees have been paid by the Red Devils this summer, and Ineos will likely want a similar structure for the Sesko deal.
Sir Jim Ratcliffe has been public about United’s financial struggles, and it seems any further signings will rely on sales being made first.

Antony, Jadon Sancho, Alejandro Garnacho and Tyrell Malacia have all been put up for sale and told to find new clubs this summer – United will likely need a sale to be completed to help fund the Sesko deal.
Antony is wanted by Al Nassr this summer, and the money raised from his sale could fund Ineos’ remaining transfer plans.
