Manchester United now present offer to ‘special’ striker, talks ongoing with his representatives

Manchester United may now focus on signing a new striker after finally landing Bryan Mbeumo from Brentford last week.

Manchester United beat West Ham United 2-1 over the weekend to kick off the tour of the United States with a victory.

Bruno Fernandes was on the scoresheet twice as United looked much sharper in the final third than we have been used to seeing.

Rasmus Hojlund was a threat, and Matheus Cunha showed glimpses of his quality, but United will still chase another striker.

Bryan Mbeumo is finally on board after joining United last week, with Amorim now looking to unleash the Cameroonian and fellow new signing Cunha behind a new striker.

Manchester United move for Benjamin Sesko

United were offered Viktor Gyokeres last week, but the Swedish goal machine has now signed for Premier League rivals Arsenal.

Amorim and Ineos must look elsewhere, and RB Leipzig striker Benjamin Sesko is being mentioned once again.

Sesko actually snubbed United in 2022, but the interest has not waned – especially with Christopher Vivell involved.

Vivell helped the Red Bull group sign Sesko at both Red Bull Salzburg and RB Leipzig, and he is even quoted as saying Sesko is a ‘special’ player on the official Bundesliga website.

Sky Germany’s Florian Plettenberg claims that United are now in talks with Sesko’s representatives, but so are Newcastle United.

Plettenberg reports that both clubs have ‘presented their projects and financial offers’ for Sesko, with formal bids to RB Leipzig now expected imminently.

Sesko has a gentleman’s agreement to leave RB Leipzig this summer, but only for a club he considers to be ‘special’.

Whether United are included in that list remains to be seen, though going this far down the line with a move to sign Sesko suggests that there is genuine hope of a deal.

Benjamin Sesko may prefer Manchester United

Plettenberg notes that the decision is now down to Sesko, though Newcastle are pushing particularly hard for his signature.

This comes after Leipzig Volkszeitung reported on Sunday that Sesko may prefer a move to United over Newcastle.

Newcastle have Champions League football on offer, but United’s history as one of the top clubs in the world may sway Sesko.

The Slovenian is an enormous presence at 6ft 5in tall and has scored 39 times in 87 games for RB Leipzig.

Still only 22, Sesko has enormous potential for the future and United seemingly believe that he can become a superstar.

Sesko won’t come cheap, though, and United may need to sell some players in the coming days before being able to push a deal over the line.
