Manchester United target Rafael Leao has the option to leave AC Milan or play under Ruben Amorim at the San Siro.
Last week it was confirmed that Ruben Amorim has joined AC Milan as head coach, just over five months after he was sacked by Manchester United.
United have made contact with Rafael Leao over a potential summer move and Leao says he wants a new challenge after seven years in Milan.
Leao scored for Portugal in their emphatic 5-0 World Cup win over Uzbekistan, and again, he spoke about his future after the full-time whistle.

Do you think Rafael Leao would be a good signing for Manchester United?

Rafael Leao came off the bench and scored for Portugal against Uzbekistan, but questions after the match were more focused on his future rather than his performance.
As quoted by Italian journalist Daniele Longo, Leao said: “Right now I have to stay focused on the World Cup.
“What I know about this coach [Amorim] is that he’s very good, he did well in Portugal, at United it didn’t go as he wanted but he remains a great coach.
“I’ll decide my life after the World Cup.”

Rafael Leao and Ruben Amorim set to face Man United
In United’s 2026 pre-season schedule, Michael Carrick will come up against Amorim’s AC Milan in a friendly match.
United are set to face Milan on Saturday, August 15 and not only will the Red Devils face Amorim’s new side, they could face a transfer target in the shape of Leao.

Alternatively, if United have struck a deal by then, Leao could face his former side over the summer.
Reports suggest Leao is refusing a new contract with Milan, so a transfer move could be on the cards this summer.
