Manchester United have been linked with a move to sign Rafael Leao this summer, and he has now ticked one of Ineos’ biggest boxes for a new signing.
Left-wing is a priority this summer for Manchester United, and Rafael Leao is reportedly one target on the shortlist for Ineos.
United’s interest in Leao goes back to 2022 when he was scouted as an attacking option under Erik ten Hag.
This summer, interest has reemerged, with United one of several Premier League sides keen on Leao, with Milan willing to sell him for around £60m.

Rafael Leao admits being a fan of Manchester United
Signing Leao would only be possible if Marcus Rashford is sold, with the two attackers quite similar in profile.
If this interest develops, United fans will have question marks around Leao’s work rate and consistency. But what can’t be doubted are his feelings for United.
Speaking on the Fred Buckley YouTube channel, Leao was asked whether he watches the Premier League.
“Yeah, of course,” Leao explained. He was then asked if he watches any particular team.
“[Laughs] Nah, I like United. I like United because my idol is Cristiano Ronaldo. So back then, I used to watch them.”
Leao then added on at the end.
“I like Arsenal also.”

Leao ticks Ineos’ recruitment box
Leao admitting that he watched United and recalls Ronaldo’s days at the club is a sign that he wants to join United.
United implemented a new transfer rule last summer, that players must have a deep desire to play for United. Gone are the days in which United chased players who didn’t want to join, throwing money at these names in hopes they would join.
Last summer, United signed Senne Lammens, Bryan Mbeumo, Matheus Cunha, and Benjamin Sesko. All four rejected Champions League sides and instead joined United.
Cunha said playing for United was a dream, while Sesko also admitted his desire to join.
Now, Leao has also declared that he has a fondness for United and therefore ticks this box for Ineos.
