Manchester United are set to complete a long awaited deal for Patrick Dorgu.
The first major deal Manchester United deal of the 2025 January transfer window is soon set to be confirmed.
Manchester United will close a deal for Patrick Dorgu, after the club were reported to be ‘finalising terms’ earlier on January 28.
United will close a deal worth approximately £24 million, after negotiating the move with Lecce.

Romano update on Dorgu
Manchester United have a ‘verbal agreement’ in place with Lecce for Patrick Dorgu, Fabrizio Romano reports. It is now just the formalities left to be tied up.
Romano posted on X: “Patrick Dorgu to Manchester United, here we go! Verbal agreement in place with Lecce, documents to be checked in next 24h.
“Fee will be €30m plus €5m in add-ons not guaranteed. Long term contract agreed days ago with the player… …and first signing for Ruben Amorim.”
Patrick Dorgu adds balance for United
Patrick Dorgu is a player Manchester United desperately need to solve the club’s left wing-back position.
With Luke Shaw and Tyrell Malacia unreliable due to their injury records, United have looked unbalanced, with Diogo Dalot more ‘miss’ than ‘hit’ lately.
Dorgu, 20, is a Denmark international who has been starring for Serie A side Lecce, and United have beaten competition from Liverpool for his signature.
The incoming star could take the vacant number 13 shirt at United, the same number he currently wears for Lecce.
Dorgu’s versatility is an asset, Lecce have even played him on the right wing as well as at left-back, and he has been praised for his work rate and attitude.
As Romano notes, the deal for Dorgu is the first major signing made under new boss Ruben Amorim, and it is important Ineos backed him in the market in his first transfer window.
