Manchester United are in the market for a left-sided forward and Morgan Rogers could become a target given his connection to Michael Carrick.
During his interim spell, Michael Carrick confirmed Manchester United would be in the market for a new left winger.
According to The Athletic, United are one of the teams showing interest in Aston Villa’s Morgan Rogers.
Rogers scored in the Europa League final recently, and he also scored a brace as Villa beat United 2-1 this season. If the 23-year-old is available as reports suggest, Carrick could put United in pole position.

Man United should bid £__m to sign Morgan Rogers this summer💰
How much is he worth and should United even be trying to sign him?
Morgan Rogers praises Michael Carrick’s management
Rogers was signed by Carrick at Middlesbrough in 2023. In 33 appearances under him, Rogers scored seven goals and made nine assists.
Speaking to Sky Sports earlier in the 2025/26 season, Rogers explained the impact that Carrick had on his career.
“Carrick was a great manager, he was obviously someone everyone looks up to as a player, and knew how good he was,” Rogers said.
“I really enjoyed it. We were playing great football, everything about it was great. That didn’t always work in my favour in terms of me being in and out of the team.
“But I had a manager who always stuck by me, always believed in me, always spoke to me. That was massive for me at that time.
“I had a person in the manager who really stood by me and helped me. even if I wasn’t playing, that little telling to the side, explaining why I wasn’t playing.
“I understand coaches can’t do that for everyone, but for me, that was massive. When I did get in the team, I was flying.”

Morgan Rogers transfer latest
Aston Villa have secured Champions League qualification and won the Europa League last season, but they are still financially hamstrung by the PSR regulations.
As a result, Villa may have to sell key players and Rogers is one star who could leave Villa Park this summer.
Rogers is expected to cost £100 million, so signing him would require United to break their transfer record.

But if Ineos want to make a statement with a left-wing signing, there are not many better on the market than Rogers.
Rogers has flirted with a United move, and now that Carrick’s appointment is permanent, the Red Devils have a good chance of beating rivals to his signature.
