Manchester United are surely in the market for another striker this summer and one name on the radar is challenging the top names in the game.
Ruben Amorim is looking to progress in the FA Cup as Manchester United host Fulham at Old Trafford on Sunday afternoon.
Ineos want European football next season and Amorim may well need FA Cup success to get there.
United’s inconsistent displays mean that may be a lofty goal but Amorim will be looking to end the season on a high before a huge transfer window.
United need major reinforcements across the pitch this summer and Amorim has vowed to be ruthless with his squad.
Goalscorers have to be a focus for United with Rasmus Hojlund now hitting 17 games without a goal in the United attack.

Manchester United target fighting for European Golden Boot
United have at least managed five goals in the last two games, but none of them have come from strikers.
Bruno Fernandes, Manuel Ugarte, Matthijs de Ligt and Harry Maguire have scored United’s goals with another coming from an own goal.
United can’t wait forever with Hojlund and that may spark a summer move for a new striker.
Reports in February suggested that United are interested in signing Mateo Retegui from Atalanta.
The 25-year-old joined Atalanta from Genoa last season and has been in sensational form this season.
Retegui has hit 21 goals in 24 Serie A games and his incredible campaigns means he is right in contention for the European Golden Boot this season.
Goals are weighted in the race for the European Golden Boot; for example, Viktor Gyokeres’ goals for Sporting don’t carry the same weight as goals in top five European leagues.
Retegui’s 21 goals give him 42 points in the race, level with Bayern Munich superstar Harry Kane.
Keeping pace with Kane is impressive in itself but Retegui is also ahead of top strikers such as Robert Lewandowski, Erling Haaland and Alexander Isak.
In fact, the only striker ahead of Retegui in the European Golden Boot Race is Liverpool’s Mohamed Salah, which just goes to show the kind of season he is having.
| Name | Goals | Points |
| Mohamed Salah | 25 | 50 |
| Harry Kane | 21 | 42 |
| Mateo Retegui | 21 | 42 |
| Robert Lewandowski | 20 | 40 |
| Erling Haaland | 20 | 40 |
| Alexander Isak | 19 | 38 |
United keeping tabs on Mateo Retegui and Atalanta
United fans may want the club to avoid signing Atalanta players after splashing the cash on Hojlund.
The Dane just hasn’t got going this season and unless he can find some form soon, he will ultimately be replaced.
Retegui seemingly isn’t the only Atalanta player on United’s radar though and may have even spotted the Italy striker whilst watching one of his teammates.
United are keen on Atalanta midfielder Ederson with a summer move seemingly in mind.
Signing both Ederson and Retegui would cost huge money but if United want goals, Retegui’s record in Italy – and his battle with Kane and Salah for Europe’s top goalscoring award – may just make him the man.
