Manchester United are still chasing attacking additions on transfer deadline day but one top summer target may already be emerging.
Here we go – the final day of the January transfer window is here.
Manchester United were quiet to begin with but completed two signings over the weekend.
Teenage defender Ayden Heaven joined from Arsenal on Saturday, finalising a switch from the Emirates Stadium.
United followed that up by signing Patrick Dorgu as the Danish left wing back arrived from Lecce.
That may not be the end of the business but one United target would surely only be arriving in the summer rather than on deadline day.

Manchester United want exciting Premier League striker
A striker will be a priority for United with Marcus Rashford completing his move to Aston Villa.
Mathys Tel wants to join United but a late move from Bayern Munich looks complicated at best.
The Mirror (02/02, p69) report that United are interested in signing Ipswich Town’s Liam Delap.
It’s claimed that United discussed moving for Delap in a transfer meeting just last week and he is now considered a top target at Old Trafford.
Omar Berrada and Jason Wilcox were at Manchester City during Delap’s development there and seemingly still love him.
We can’t see Ipswich letting Delap go on deadline day though with the striker surely one for the summer instead.
Delap has hit nine goals in 23 Premier League games this season, emerging as a real star striker for the Tractor Boys.
Ipswich’s survival hopes are slim but Delap is their main hope – and any deadline day exit surely won’t be materialising.
Manchester City’s buy-back clause on Delap
There is another problem for United here and it’s that City have a buy-back clause on Delap.
City can take Delap back for around £29.5million, but Delap would still have to agree to that move.
Hailed as an ‘incredible finisher’ by Pep Guardiola, as quoted by the Daily Mail, Delap would give this struggling City side another goal threat.
The reality is though that Delap would be second choice behind Erling Haaland at the Etihad Stadium.
Haaland just signed a new nine-year deal at City and displacing him from the team will not be easy.
Maybe City would re-sign Delap to sell him on, which would be a blow for United and could put paid to any transfer hopes.
A path to first-team football could be clearer at United given the struggles of Rasmus Hojlund and Joshua Zirkzee, but United may well be in a battle with City – and other Premier League clubs – come the summer.
