Manchester United enjoyed a strong summer transfer window but Dan Ashworth and co will already have some names in mind for 2025.
Ineos can be delighted with their first summer transfer window at Manchester United.
United confirmed five first-team signings as Joshua Zirkzee, Leny Yoro, Matthijs de Ligt, Noussair Mazraoui and Manuel Ugarte all arrived.
This just phase one of United’s new era under Ineos though and the 2025 windows – both January and the summer – will be vital to shaping this squad.
Dan Ashworth and co know that, just because one window has closed, that doesn’t mean that the work in the market stops.
Norwegian wonderkid Sverre Nypan has been scouted by United as Ineos weigh up more signings for future windows.

Manchester United must track Angel Gomes
United will also have one eye on the Champions League having failed to qualify for the competition this time around.
The Champions League kicks off today with a new format and United will have to watch from afar.
A number of players are bound to be on United’s radar but two Lille players are surely being eyed up by Ashworth and co as they prepare to kick off against Sporting.
Midfielder Angel Gomes is the first, having taken the next step in his development with Lille this season.
Gomes has impressed enough to earn two England caps this month and left Roy Keane impressed with his confidence on the international stage.
Gomes left United for Lille in 2020 and has now received the first team action he was so desperately seeking upon departing Old Trafford.
The likelihood is that Christian Eriksen will leave United in 2025 with his contract set to expire at the end of the season.
The Dane will certainly need to be replaced and bringing in another creative midfielder who can get the ball moving forward from deep would be ideal.
Gomes can fit that role and United will surely watch his performances in the Champions League this season, adding a crucial layer of evaluation.
The 23-year-old is wanted by Newcastle United with his contract expiring next summer and United simply have to study him against some of Europe’s very best this season.
Edon Zhegrova one to watch
Lille have some tough games in the Champions League.
Gomes and co will be in action against the likes of Real Madrid, Atletico Madrid, Juventus and Liverpool between now and the end of January.
Former United talent Gomes isn’t the only player to keep tabs on though with winger Edon Zhegrova on the radar at Old Trafford.
Reports in August suggested that United had ‘sounded out’ Zhegrova for a potential move as Jadon Sancho prepared to join Chelsea.
No deal was done but the Kosovo international seems to be a talent United have picked out as a potential addition.
Primarily a right-sided winger who loves to cut in on his left foot, Zhegrova has already hit four goals in six games this season.
The 25-year-old also bagged 12 goals and 10 assists in a strong campaign last season, putting himself into United’s thoughts.
This season is a big test for Zhegrova though as he must now take his form in France into games against some of the top teams in the world.
United have to watch closely and see how Zhegrova fares; if he impresses, he may well be viewed as a player who can make an impact on the right flank as Antony struggles.
United raided Lille for defender Yoro over the summer but may yet fancy signing two of his former teammates in 2025.
