Manchester United lodge enquiry to sign £75m forward this summer after 18-goal Premier League campaign

Manchester United need attacking signings this summer and could focus on players who have impressed in the Premier League.

It’s clear that Ruben Amorim needs more goals in his Manchester United squad.

Amorim’s Sporting sides racked up the goals, scoring 96 league goals in a title-winning campaign last season.

United have drawn a blank on 13 occasions in the Premier League this season and desperately need quality attacking options next season.

United are closing in on Matheus Cunha, with the Wolverhampton Wanderers ace expected to complete a £62.5million move.

That won’t be enough to revolutionise United’s attacking options, though, and more signings are needed.

Manchester United enquire about Bryan Mbeumo

United are eyeing Liam Delap, with the Ipswich Town striker viewed as a potential scoring addition through the middle.

Cunha would play behind Delap, but United may look to add another player who can provide goals and creativity behind the striker.

The Daily Mail claim that United have enquired about signing Brentford forward Bryan Mbeumo.

Brentford are resigned to losing Mbeumo this summer but are likely to demand a fee of around £75million.

United are asking the question, though, with Mbeumo shining in the Premier League this season.

The Cameroonian has hit 18 goals and six assists in 35 Premier League outings this term, dazzling in a number of different attacking roles.

United would likely view Mbeumo as being a player to feature alongside Cunha in an advanced role, rather than as a striker.

However, United’s budget isn’t enormous, and if a striker is wanted on top of Cunha, Mbeumo may only become a prime target if funds can be raised elsewhere.

Manchester United’s potential front three have been brilliant this season

United may dream of a front three consisting of Cunha, Mbeumo and Delap, with a firm focus placed on Premier League success.

Mbeumo has racked up the goals and assists this season, with Cunha notching 15 goals and six assists for Wolves.

Add in Delap’s 12 goals in 34 Premier League games this term and United are potentially taking a different route after bringing Rasmus Hojlund and Joshua Zirkzee in from Italy.

Those three targets have combined for 45 goals and 14 assists this season, showing that they can make a huge impact in the Premier League.

United need that attacking boost this summer, and whilst it would be a huge outlay to bring in all three players, they could seriously revolutionise Amorim’s side.
