Manchester United need a number of attacking signings this summer as Ruben Amorim looks for more goals in his first full season in charge.
Ruben Amorim is gearing up for a huge Europa League clash as Manchester United face Lyon on Thursday night.
United drew 2-2 at Lyon last week and must now see off the job at Old Trafford in order to reach the semi-finals.
Winning the Europa League and booking a Champions League spot next season would be a major boost for United’s summer business.
The prestige of playing in Europe’s top competition combined with the financial boost would leave United in a much stronger position.
Attacking signings must be the priority, and whilst United want Francisco Trincao in a potential Amorim reunion, another option closer to home may appeal.

Brentford stance on Manchester United target Bryan Mbeumo
Reports in January suggested that United were very interested in Bryan Mbeumo, and were eyeing a £40million move for the Brentford star.
Mbeumo has been sensational this season, hitting 16 goals in 32 Premier League games, whilst adding five assists.
The London Evening Standard now claim that Brentford are ‘resigned’ to losing both Mbeumo and Yoane Wissa this summer.
Brentford are already eyeing potential replacements, but will likely command a hefty fee for Mbeumo.
The 25-year-old is out of contract in 2026, but Brentford have an option to extend that deal until 2027.
United will have to come up with a very attractive offer, and the £40million fee rumoured in January may not be enough.
Yet with Xavi Simons valued at £67million and Matheus Cunha valued at £62million, United may attempt to sign Mbeumo for a lower fee this summer, with Brentford’s acceptance sparking hope of a deal.
Mbeumo versatility appealing to United
Mbeumo has been hailed as a ‘mini Mohamed Salah’ by pundit Jason Cundy, as seen on TalkSPORT back in December.
Now seemingly primed for the next step in his career after shining for Brentford, Mbeumo will appeal to United with his versatility.
Mbeumo may predominantly be a right-sided winger, but he has also played as a striker and off the forward.
United’s 3-4-2-1 system in Amorim will heavily value a player like Mbeumo, who can make a big impact in a number of different roles.
Mbeumo has also proven himself in the Premier League, meaning United can be confident of his impact next season and beyond.
