The decision-makers at Manchester United have clearly been watching Euro 2024 closely this summer and are in contact to sign a standout player.
Ineos will be delighted to finally have Dan Ashworth in place at the club as he immediately started work after being confirmed as the new sporting director on Monday.
He joins technical director Jason Wilcox, with Christopher Vivell also in line to arrive as the new director of recruitment.
Already multiple deals seem to be nearing completion such as Matthijs de Ligt and Joshua Zirkzee with both reportedly due to be signed following the Netherlands’ Euro 2024 campaign.
But now one of the best breakout stars from Euro 2024 has been linked with Manchester United as contacts are made and his price tag has been named.

Manchester United now in contact for Dan Ndoye
One of the most impressive players from the Euros this summer has been Switzerland’s versatile player, Dan Ndoye and his outings have caught the eye.
Now according to Swiss outlet 4-4-2, United are hot on the trail of Ndoye with the interest being concrete already despite the fact he remains in the tournament at the moment ahead of Switzerland’s quarter-final against England.
United have reportedly made contact with Bologna to sign Ndoye this summer, asking what fee they’d sell the 23-year-old for.
According to the report, Bologna have informed Ashworth that they’d demand a fee of around £21m for the winger. United are in pole position to sign the talented breakout star. While his agent has insisted that Ndoye is ready for a move.
Inter Milan are also said to have some interest although they haven’t cemented their desire just yet and will only do so upon selling Denzel Dumfries.
Interest in Ndoye is the second cheap-ish right winger/right-sided player option who has been linked in recent days after Turkey’s Baris Alper Yilmaz.
Ndoye has been phenomenal for Switzerland during Euro 2024
While Ndoye has been very impressive throughout the tournament in Germany this summer, it has to be wondered where United would play him considering he is has been thriving in a right midfield/right wing-back position.
Ndoye has played every game in Euro 2024 for the Swiss and even scored against the hosts Germany. Here is a look at how he’s performed in each game to predict where he’d actually fit in for United.
| Stat | V. Hungary | V. Scotland | V. Germany | V. Italy |
| Position | Attacking Midfield | Attacking midfield | Attacking midfield | Right midfield |
| Chances created | 1 | 1 | 0 | 1 |
| Pass % | 67% | 86% | 67% | 96% |
| Dribbles | 3/5 | 3/3 | 0/1 | 2/3 |
| Tackles | 1/2 | 2/2 | 0/1 | 0/0 |
| Def. actions | 6 | 5 | 5 | 2 |
| Duels won | 9/14 | 6/8 | 2/6 | 6/9 |
From this, it is clear that despite being a right winger for the majority of his career, Ndoye is incredibly versatile and could be an excellent squad player for United in multiple positions.
He could be an attack-minded back-up for Diogo Dalot, an option on the right wing and also in midfield if needed.
This is a deal which could be done as a replacement for the likes of Jadon Sancho and Mason Greenwood, although the price stated by Bologna could increase if Ndoye impresses further in the Euros, he might even eliminate England.
