The deal to sign Matthijs de Ligt seems to be going well for Manchester United and now another boost has been received.
Ever since July 1st, Manchester United seem to have sprung into action after months of what seemed to be just being keen on players now talks are well underway.
One player who talks are in motion for is Matthijs de Ligt with Ben Jacobs confirming that talks are progressing positively between the involved parties.
However, now reports are suggesting United could face competition in the bid to sign De Ligt to strengthen the defence.
This won’t be concerning Ineos though for one major reason.

PSG showing interest in De Ligt
It would be too good to be true to just assume United would be able to sign De Ligt without any concerns creeping in but now Sport Bild have reported that competition in the race to complete this deal could arrive from PSG who are keen.
This under normal circumstances would be concerning, but Fabrizio Romano has already made it clear De Ligt only wants United.
He tweeted that: “No talks ongoing between agent and PSG as de Ligt’s giving priority to Man United.”
While adding that United are negotiating the fee and deal structure with Bayern, it would appear De Ligt is very likely to be United’s first summer signing.
Manchester United hoping to complete two deals next week
With no obstacles in the way, a deal for De Ligt could be wrapped up fairly quickly once the Netherlands exit the Euros this summer.
Now, according to I Sport, United are targeting next week in order to complete deals for both De Ligt and his Dutch teammate Joshua Zirkzee.
This however does probably hinge on whether or not the Dutch get past Turkey this Saturday in the Euros quarter-finals.
That being said, the Euros end a week on Sunday so either way, if United are making these pair of £34m moves we shouldn’t have to wait too much longer to find out.
