One transfer window is over and Manchester United may already be looking ahead to the next one.
Manuel Ugarte was the final signing of Manchester United’s summer transfer window, the fifth first team player brought in.
Is this the end of Ineos’ strengthening plans? Certainly not. The 2024 summer transfer window is simply ‘phase one’.

Manchester United identify Antonee Robinson as target
Manchester United are now paying attention to the left-back position ahead of the January transfer window, it is being claimed.
The Sun report Fulham defender Antonee Robinson has been identified as a top target.
Robinson will be targeted for a transfer on two conditions.
The first revolves around Luke Shaw and Tyrell Malacia. United have given both players a last chance by attributing their latest injury setbacks as pure misfortune, and giving them the first half of the season to get fit, stay fit, and prove themselves.
If they cannot do so, then at least one of them will need to be replaced.
Antonee Robinson value
The secondary aspect is the £30 million valuation of Antonee Robinson. It’s claimed Fulham do not want to lose a key first team player but would listen to offers in this price range.
United would have to find the funds for a deal, and player sales might need to be a factor once again heading into the next window, despite a moderate net spend this summer.
The USA international is 27, which does cast a little extra doubt over these claims. Ineos have not signed a player over the age of 26 during the transfer window, with four of the five signings 24 and under.
He is two years younger than Luke Shaw, and importantly, has a strong fitness record.
Robinson started 37 of a possible 38 Premier League games last season, while Shaw started only 12.
With this transfer window just closed, speculation for January is a fairly moot point this early – but left-back is clearly still an area of concern for Manchester United, and it does make perfect sense that Ineos are preparing to strengthen the position if injury issues persist.
