Man Utd wonderkid target says his idol is Dybala, agent claims he is the new Havertz

Manchester United have made clear already under Ineos that the club is targeting top young talent from around the world.

Sekou Kone is the eye-catching youth addition, to be joined by Chido Obi-Martin and Samuel Lusale, with United beating heavy competition to their signatures.

This week it was claimed via Tutto Juve that Manchester United made advances to try and sign Juventus wonderkid Lorenzo Anghele earlier this year.

Anghele ended up signing a new contract until 2028, yet you can expect Ineos to keep monitoring the Italy under-20 international’s development.

Lorenzo Anghele wanted by Man Utd

Lorenzo Anghele is a versatile forward who plays a similar role to Joshua Zirkzee, capable of leading the line or dropping deep.

His agent has compared him to Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Marco van Basten, two former greats. In terms of the modern game, he views a Premier League player as a more modest likeness.

Giovani Bia told Juve News earlier this year about the youngster’s versatility, commenting: “He is an eclectic player, he can cover multiple roles: he has played as a first and second striker, as well as behind the two forwards.

“Lorenzo has a strong physique and excellent technique, but he is still developing. Maybe in a year and a half he can establish himself in one role rather than another.

“Who does he resemble? With due proportions, in terms of physicality and movements he is very reminiscent of Havertz. The only difference is that the German kicks with his left foot.”

Anghele made his full Juventus debut earlier this season, coming off the bench for the final five minutes in their win over Verona.

And crucially, Anghele is playing under highly rated manager Thiago Motta, who oversaw Joshua Zirkzee’s rise at Bologna last season.

He is a very different type of forward to more traditional young striker Chido Obi-Martin, and so if United are serious about a long-term plan, Anghele could be a future partner for the young Dane.

Anghele looks up to Dybala

Lorenzo Anghele has a different idea of who he sees himself emulating, after seeing former Juventus player Paulo Dybala up close, a player Alejandro Garnacho assisted for Argentina last week.

Anghele told Mondo Primavera: “Dybala is a great player and I take inspiration from him. I had the chance to see him up close in training and I can say that he really does what he wants with the ball.”

United still have the financial pull to lure Anghele away from Juventus despite his new deal, but don’t expect anything to happen mid-season.

He is now mixing in with Motta’s Juventus squad, and could really make his name over the next 12 months. If he can live up to the comparisons, then United are unlikely to give up easily.
