Manchester United’s summer recruitment plans extend beyond just overhauling the immediate first-team, with several exciting youngsters on Ineos’ list as well.

Academy recruitment worked out incredibly well for Ineos during the first two transfer windows in their time running the footballing side of Manchester United.

Notable success stories are Ayden Heaven, Chido Obi and Sekou Kone, who have all shown signs that a future at Old Trafford awaits them. Two of the three have made senior debuts, while Kone is a regular on the United bench and in first-team training, demonstrating what Ruben Amorim thinks of him.

Due to this, similar plans are being considered this summer, as Amorim also admitted United may sign youngsters from top clubs. When it has been such a success, the club are justified in their plans, which are beginning to become clearer.

With United already completing a deal to sign Diego Leon this summer, now there are three PSG wonderkids all being linked with joining the impressive cohort at Carrington, with future first-team aspirations.

Manchester United had scouts watching PSG Espoirs vs West Ham

United are searching across the globe for some of the best up-and-coming footballers. This has seen United scouting the U17 African Cup of Nations, with a few names of interest emerging.

With head of recruitment Christopher Vivell having expertise in youth signings, United are showing an interest in PSG wonderkid trio, Axel Tape, Mahamadou ⁠Sangare and Oumar Camara.

Now, United in Focus understands after speaking with Graeme Bailey that club scouts were in attendance at Campus PSG on Wednesday to watch as West Ham’s U21 side took on PSG Espoirs, which is basically another academy side comprising U21s.

The game saw two of the three United targets aforementioned in action, with Sangare starting for PSG, and Tape was on the bench.

For United scouts, it would have been Sangare who stood out as the most impressive player on the pitch with a performance which the West Ham commentator described as ‘decisive’.

Sangare is out of contract this summer, which is likely the reason United are keen to sign him, as it represents a rare opportunity to sign a player who is one of PSG’s biggest talents, without breaking the bank.

Wednesday saw Sangare score two of the four goals for PSG in the 4-2 win over the Hammers, with both seeing him convert well inside the box with strong finishing.

Sangare looked like a physical standout in this game, in terms of his speed, which should bode well for his chances of impressing Amorim, as the Portuguese head coach demands physical output from his players.

If scouts were undecided on Sangare before this game, watching him score twice is only going to add to the interest held within the club. This was the first glimpse of Sangare in action and instant impressions are positive, but Ineos will have to decide whether he’s worth signing or is an upgrade on the current options.
