However, looking further forward to 2025 and the two transfer windows, left wing-back is a position which looks in need of reinforcements.

David Raum an option for Manchester United
So with left wing-back a priority, now it is reported that RB Leipzig’s David Raum has emerged to be an option to strengthen the position.
According to Florian Plettenberg, Raum is on United’s radar to fill the vacant left wing-back position.
The 26-year-old German is viewed as an excellent fit for Amorim’s system within United and is being closely monitored for a possible move once he returns from his ankle injury.
It is also claimed that United were also in talks with Raum last summer, with figures discussed between the club and the player.
While as far back as 2022 links were drawn between United and Raum, before he cost RB Leipzig £21m.
The left-sided wing-back role has seen Diogo Dalot occupy it in the early games. But with Amorim admitting he is better on the right and also Dalot being linked with Real Madrid
Christopher Vivell knows Raum well
One thing which has been crystal clear thus far in Amorim’s reign is that wing-backs will play a huge role in the way this United team plays.
Amad Diallo on the right has probably been United’s most effective and important player so far with three assists in his two starts under Amorim.
In comparison, the left side has been nowhere near as productive with Dalot – albeit he is given less attacking license. But adding Raum would solve these issues.
United’s director of recruitment Christopher Vivell has been full of praise for Raum in the past, saying as per the Bundesliga website: “David has developed brilliantly in the past two years and established himself as a regular for club and country during his first season in the Bundesliga. He’s quick, dynamic, can strike the ball and is extremely dangerous from set pieces and crosses.”
Hoffenheim sporting director Alexander Rosen also praised Raum in 2022, highlighting some qualities of the German: “David is a highly talented and extremely fast player with a strong left foot.”
