Amad Diallo starred in Manchester United’s 4-0 win over Everton on Sunday afternoon.
Marcus Rashford and Joshua Zirkzee each scored twice at Old Trafford to hand Ruben Amorim his first Premier League win, but it was Amad Diallo who hogged the headlines.
The 22-year-old has hit the ground running under new management with Amorim trialling Amad in a right wing-back role.
Manchester United fans were blown away by Amad’s performance against Everton after he picked up two assists and was a chance-creating machine from out wide.
Amad was voted Man of the Match by supporters and the poll wasn’t even close with a staggering 70% of fans agreeing that he was the standout player.

Amad Diallo is perfect fit for Ruben Amorim
Amorim refused to get carried away by Sunday’s result, insisting that his players still have a long way to go as they gradually learn and adapt to his 3-4-3 system and style of play.
However, some players seem to be quickly catching onto Amorim’s ideas and Amad certainly falls into that category.
Amorim wants United to control matches and he will be pleased to know that United ended Sunday’s clash with 60% possession. Against Bodo/Glimt, that figure was even higher at 73%.
When it comes to controlling games and keeping possession, Amad is a perfect fit for Amorim and he proved it with one gesture to Rashford against Everton.
Amad provided an assist for Rashford’s second goal of the game just a few minutes into the second half, and he was eager for the Red Devils to stay in control after finding the back of the net.
As pointed out by The Athletic, Amad gestured to Rashford to “slow down” after he came sprinting at full pace towards him after the restart. Instead of forcing the ball to Rashford on the overlap, Amad recycled the ball through midfield and allowed his teammates to push further up the pitch.
What Ruben Amorim has said about Amad Diallo
Amorim was full of praise for Amad after the full-time whistle, with United’s head coach hailing the impact of interim boss Ruud van Nistelrooy.
He said: “He [Amad] is really big in talent, but small in size. He did a great job but he also has to improve. He is in a great moment. Ruud van Nistelrooy helped him a lot in his games in charge and now he’s helping me.”
Amorim also spoke positively about Amad’s relentless pressing – which directly set up two goals for United on Sunday afternoon.
Speaking to MUTV, Amorim said: “I’d like to take credit for it, but that’s him. He’s like that. He’s smart. He’s explosive.
Rashford also raved about Amad’s performance, describing him as “so sharp”.
