Manchester United are gearing up for a busy end to the January transfer window, with several deals still considered possibilities.

By 11 pm on Monday, Manchester United will hope to have announced the arrival of Patrick Dorgu and Ayden Heaven.

Dorgu’s medical has been delayed until the weekend, which means he will likely debut next Friday against Leicester City in the FA Cup.

Heaven will also be done with his medical booked, however we are not privy to when this will be.

Additionally, it appears the situation around Alejandro Garnacho remains unresolved, with a move for Mathys Tel being considered – as Spurs agree a fee with Bayern Munich, although the Frenchman prefers United.

Now, the latest on Garnacho’s future has been reported.

Alejandro Garnacho is preparing to leave Old Trafford

Speaking on Thursday, Ruben Amorim was full of praise for Garnacho, explaining he is happy with the Argentine talent.

However, now according to a report from The Independent and Miguel Delaney, Garnacho is actually preparing to depart the club this weekend.

This is due to United’s desire to bring Tel in, which needs the finances from Garnacho’s sale to fund it – with Bayern’s talented Arjen Robben likened talent wanting to join United.

Garnacho remains on the radar of both Napoli and Chelsea.

However, Napoli sits £32m off the asking price – but the report claims there are still serious negotiations to come with Chelsea.

In talks for Garnacho, United have enquired about one of Chelsea’s younger talents along with cash – and 18-year-old centre-back Josh Acheampong is one name that the report specifies.

Josh Acheampong would be an impressive addition for Manchester United

United asking for Acheampong is interesting and would mean Ineos have built a U19 back three for Amorim – along with Heaven and Leny Yoro.

Acheampong is a right-footed centre-back and is considered one of the very best defensive prospects in the country right now having already played his way into Enzo Maresca’s plans and debuting in the Premier League at 18.

Maresca raved about Acheampong after his Premier League debut earlier this month, as quoted by the Metro.

“I think Josh was our best player,” said Maresca. “Because of the age, because it was the first game.

“Josh for me can be a top player for this club, but he needs the right path, the right moment. With young players, you have to decide which moment, and we decided today because he was ready today.”

Acheampong has the traits Amorim wants in a wide-centre-back as he is very comfortable on the ball, it would be a very good addition from Ineos if it was Acheampong plus £50m or so for Garnacho.

It is yet to be seen if there is weight to this link, but it would be an exciting one for United and have Amorim sorted defensively for the next decade.

The next few days could end up being frantic at United.
