Manchester United’s first signing of the summer transfer window is set to be Ederson for £34.5m, but now a first permanent outgoing has been confirmed.
This summer, Manchester United are set to have a £250m war chest to spend in the transfer market, with Ederson the first arrival.
United have committed to spend £34.5m on Ederson, which isn’t a lot when compared with the current market rate and the amount left to spend.
United would have another £215.5m to spend this summer based on this signing, but the move for Ederson might already have been funded by a sale.

Rasmus Hojlund officially sold by Manchester United
United’s return to the Champions League allows for plenty of spending this summer, but sales will be crucial to boost the budget and allow it to be stretched even further.
Now, United have confirmed on the official club website that Rasmus Hojlund has permanently departed, and with this comes the £38m buy option Napoli triggered, on top of the £5m loan fee.
It was already known that Hojlund would join Napoli, becoming one of the most expensive sales ever managed by United.
Hojlund previously acknowledged his exit from United, but now the club has confirmed this deal is official, meaning the funds can be counted.
The £38m for Hojlund pays for Ederson with £3.5m to spare, and technically, this could mean United still has the entire original budget.
Ederson is United’s latest Serie A import, and there will be hope that he is better than the previous signings.

Not only has Hojlund’s transfer fee come at the perfect time, but also releasing Casemiro will save United a lot of money, £18.2m per year to be exact, with Ederson likely to be on half this amount.
This, along with Tyrell Malacia’s £3.9m contract, and finally seeing the back of Jadon Sancho, who has been paid £50,000-a-week by United since his loan to Aston Villa, £2.6m over a season.
Marcus Rashford is also still likely to be sold, which will be another £300,000-a-week or so off the wage bill.
Slowly but surely, Ineos are fixing the mess they inherited.
With Ederson’s impending arrival, United might still have an entire summer budget to use.
