Manchester United will have to find a resolution to Marcus Rashford’s future this summer and a new opportunity is now emerging.
After a successful loan spell in Spain in 2025/26, Marcus Rashford wants to stay at Barcelona.
Manchester United included a £26m buy option in his loan deal, which is valid until June 15. However, Barcelona are refusing to pay, and their £70m purchase of Anthony Gordon suggests they have looked elsewhere to strengthen their attacking options.
Rashford is set to return to United for pre-season, but it remains unlikely that he will be reintegrated into Michael Carrick’s squad. A resolution is needed, and a golden opportunity may come from Bayern Munich.

Bayern Munich are ready to move for Marcus Rashford
There is Premier League interest in Rashford, but another option appears to be a move to German champions Bayern Munich.

Bayern were heavily linked with Gordon, but now he has secured a move to Barcelona, they could turn their attention to Rashford.
Rashford is currently focused on England’s World Cup campaign, and a good tournament in the United States could drive up his value.

Man Utd must not bend their Marcus Rashford stance
So far this summer, United have taken a firm stance on Rashford’s future: A permanent deal, or none at all.
Barcelona have discussed another loan deal, but ultimately, it leaves Ineos with the same problem this time next year, only Rashford’s contract has ticked down another year.

Rashford was a success in Barcelona, and frankly even a £26m deal is far too small for a player of his talent.
It would be best for all parties if Rashford secures a permanent exit this summer, and Bayern could be a great move for the 28-year-old.
