Marcus Rashford was frozen out of the Manchester United squad under Ruben Amorim, and now a permanent exit looks inevitable.
It was in late 2024 when Marcus Rashford made his last appearance for Manchester United, and it seems no more are on the horizon.
Ruben Amorim decided to leave Rashford out of the Manchester derby, and the Portuguese head coach then publicly criticised his work-rate in training. It was strongly believed that Amorim was the leading factor in why Rashford fell down the pecking order.
However, a report from Manchester Evening News claims that it was actually a decision from the hierarchy to freeze out Rashford rather than a decision led by Amorim.

Ineos knew Marcus Rashford needed to leave
In the lead-up to Rashford’s exit, there were clear signs that there was tension building with his relationship with the club.
Rashford’s attitude was questioned by fans who were frustrated at his lack of defensive work.
Wayne Rooney told Rashford to leave and get a fresh start, and clearly the club hierarchy, Ineos, felt the same.
A fresh start was needed, and Rashford has since made it clear that he doesn’t want to return to Manchester.
While Rashford could return for pre-season at Carrington, he has been clear about wanting to sign for Barcelona permanently.
Both parties have moved on. United have upgraded their attack, and Rashford is enjoying his football elsewhere. That tells you that Ineos made the right decision, even if it was a ruthless one.
