Luis Henrique is ‘one to keep an eye on’ for Man Utd this summer, he’d be Ruben Amorim’s fastest player

Manchester United are known to be looking for right-wing-back reinforcements this summer, and now another option has emerged on Ineos’ radar.

Ruben Amorim, in an ideal world, would have wanted to see Geovany Quenda join from Sporting CP this summer, however, Chelsea’s proactive recruitment saw them swoop to sign the teenage sensation.

Manchester United couldn’t offer Sporting the chance to keep Quenda next season, with the player also unhappy in the wing-back position and instead wanting to be a winger, which Chelsea offered him.

After this, it emerged that United held an interest in Roger Fernandes, who is a very similar player and may even be better than the 17-year-old right now. With any signing likely to cost a hefty chunk of the budget, there has spike in interest in seeing Jaydan Kamason or Bendito Mantato given a chance from the academy.

However, there are also numerous other options for United with another now on the radar of Christopher Vivell and Jason Wilcox.

Manchester United like Luis Henrique from Marseille

With a right-wing-back still on the cards at United this summer, now United are likely developing a substantial list of options and among them is Mason Greenwood’s teammate at Marseille.

United in Focus understands, after speaking with Graeme Bailey, that Marseille’s Luis Henrique has became of interest to Ineos.

“United have been looking at Henrique from Marseille. They do like him”, Graeme explained to United in Focus.

“He’s one to keep an eye on. The right winger/right wing-back. He’s been the right wing-back for Roberto De Zerbi and has been very good.”

Henrique has been on fire this season for the Ligue 1 side, with nine goals and eight assists from wing-back this season in 31 games. It is a move to sign a wing-back more suiting to Amorim’s demands from his players in this position, as the Brazilian is more a winger than a full-back, potentially an upgrade stylistically on Diogo Dalot.

Luis Henrique would give Ruben Amorim a serious attacking threat

As a wing-back, Henrique’s main qualities come with the ball, and he has been compared to some of Europe’s best attacking full-backs, such as Alphonso Davies and Theo Hernandez. But how does he compare with Dalot?

As seen above, Dalot is more rounded, but in terms of threat, Henrique is one of the best in the world right now as a ‘winger back’.

One major thing Henrique would bring to United is his incredible speed, as he was recorded as Ligue 1’s fastest player earlier this season in a study by French league media at 36.98 km/h or 23.01 mph.

This would rank him as United’s quickest player, with Alejandro Garnacho recorded at 35.48 km/h (22.04 mph) earlier this season, which showcases how fast Henrique is.

United have lacked speed at times this season and it has been costly in counterattacks, but Henrique would solve this.
