PSV Eindhoven will not draw up any ‘concrete plans’ to sign Manchester United’s Premier League youngster Facundo Pellistri until the future of fellow forward Yorbe Vertessen is confirmed.
That is according to Rik Elfrink, an Eredivisie reporter who specialises in all things PSV.
In short, he is about as reliable as they come with regards to the comings and goings at the Philips Stadium. And Facundo Pellistri, he explains, is not going to come until one current member of Peter Bosz’s table-topping squad goes.
The Uruguay international joined Manchester United in a £9 million deal from Penarol back in 2019 but may be allowed to leave this month, HITC sources informed that the Red Devils are open to permanent offers.

Facundo Pellistri facing Manchester United exit
There is interest from MLS outfit LA Galaxy – who employed former United hero Javier ‘Chicharito’ Hernandez until recently – and a PSV side cruising at the summit of the Eredivisie table.
But, as far as Elfrink is concerned, Pellistri will not be swapping Old Trafford for Eindhoven until PSV have first sorted out the future of another jet-heeled attacker.
“PSV is not going to make any concrete plans for Manchester United’s Uruguayan Facundo Pellistri at the moment,” Elfrink writes on X.
“Vertessen wants to pack his suitcases, but (he) is still a PSV player. To be continued.”
Like Pellistri, the £4.5 million-rated Vertessen has found starts hard to come by this term. Bundesliga strugglers Union Berlin submitted a bid earlier this month but PSV are yet to accept, with technical director Earnest Stewart seemingly confirming that there are no plans to cash in on Vertessen (ED).
“The players we have under contract have signed that contract themselves,” Stewart tells De Telegraaf.
“Ultimately, I am here to put together the best possible squad to become champions. We really want to keep this team together.
“There is always a moment in life when something might happen. (But) that has not happened yet.”
Out of favour under Erik ten Hag
Pellistri, who joined United with the backing of one Diego Forlan, has started only one Premier League game this season and has just a year-and-a-half left on his contract.
It speaks volumes that Ten Hag seemed reluctant to throw his weight behind the 22-year-old even during the absences of Jadon Sancho and Antony.
