Fenerbahce manager Jose Mourinho has been tipped to link up with one Manchester United star in the January transfer window, according to stunning reports in Turkey.

Jose Mourinho was axed from Serie A side Roma in January before making his long-awaited return to management with Fenerbahce in June.

The former Manchester United and Chelsea manager is in his first season in charge in Turkey’s top-flight league, with Mourinho enjoying a steady start so far.

Fenerbahce are currently second in the Super Lig table and Mourinho’s men are five points adrift from rivals Galatasaray after 11 matches played.

Mourinho’s Fenerbahce linked with Man Utd star

According to Turkish outlet Star, Jose Mourinho could see the arrival of a Manchester United star among his Fenerbahce ranks in the January transfer window.

Christian Eriksen, who played under Mourinho at Tottenham, is out of contract with United next summer and the Danish midfielder’s long-term future at Old Trafford remains uncertain.

The 32-year-old United star can speak with clubs outside of England from January and can sign a pre-contract agreement ahead of a free transfer in the summer.

However, Star reports that Mourinho could land Christian Eriksen in January and the United midfielder is on the ‘agenda’ of Fenerbahce and Galatasaray.

The publication claims that new United manager Ruben Amorim, who replaced Erik ten Hag in the Old Trafford dugout, does not see Eriksen as part of his plans.

Man Utd star Eriksen attracts transfer interest

Christian Eriksen has previously voiced his frustrations at the lack of playing time at Old Trafford after falling down the pecking order under Erik ten Hag last season.

The former Ajax and Tottenham ace arrived at Old Trafford in 2022 after he left Brentford and completed a stunning free transfer to the Red Devils.

Eriksen has impressed at times this season and the Denmark international has scored four times and registered three assists in 13 appearances.

The United player has managed five starts in eight Premier League matches in the 2024-25 campaign, but it remains unclear of his role under Ruben Amorim.

Eriksen has attracted interest from former side Ajax, La Liga outfit Real Betis and Belgian Pro League side Anderlecht ahead of his contract expiring in 2025.
