Probably not for the first time in 2021, Kingsley Coman has been linked to Manchester United.
German newspaper BILD report United are keen on the Frenchman who scored the winning goal in the 2020 Champions League final.
The report claims United are willing to offer Coman wages of around £260,000 per week to win him over.
Coman is under contract until 2023 and Bayern are trying to get him to renew his deal, but they are concerned he will be tempted by United’s more lucrative offer.

Immediate red flag
As soon as United are linked to a player who is in contract negotiations with his current club, you can usually guess how it ends up.
We have seen it so many times before, often with Bayern players. It usually ends in a contract renewal.
Thiago did walk out on Bayern last summer, and Coman has won it all at Bayern. He could fancy a fresh challenge, but we should remain wary about the veracity of these reports.
What has his form been like?
Coman has had a good season so far for Bayern, who once again sit top of the Bundesliga.
He has 11 assists in total, nine of which have come in the Bundesliga. That’s two more than Jadon Sancho.
Coman has six total goals in the Bundesliga and Champions League, the same total as Sancho.
This is already a more impressive individual season for Coman than last season, when he registered only four assists. He has more than doubled that output this season. He is also closing on his tally of seven goals from a year ago.
He is averaging 1.8 chances created per Bundesliga game and 1.8 successful take-on per game.
Where would he fit?
There is no doubt Coman would bring quality to United’s side. His total of 11 assists would put him joint level with Bruno Fernandes.
At 24-years-old, Coman could be a long-term signing for United. While it seems like he has been around for many seasons, he still has his best years ahead of him.
Adding an experienced player like Coman would help United’s younger wing talents like Amad Diallo and Facundo Pellistri out.
Coman’s success this season has come from the left wing, so he wouldn’t necessarily block Diallo’s path either.
He could alternate with Marcus Rashford and United could ditch playing Anthony Martial out of position in the role.

In terms of the reported £260,000 per week wages, this is a high figure, but realistically it is the going rate for a Champions League winner who has won multiple domestic titles in Germany and in Italy with Juventus.
Coman would be a more affordably priced alternative to Jadon Sancho. He could cost more in the £50 million range. Sancho would also command high wages, possibly above the figure being proposed to Coman.
A deal would allow United to sign a winger while still having plenty left over to sign a top centre-back too.
We have our doubts over whether United are just being used in this scenario, but Coman is a quality player who could add a lot to United’s side if a deal can be struck to bring him in.
