A former Manchester United talent who was snubbed as a potential summer transfer target under Ineos and Sir Jim Ratcliffe has seen his value skyrocket.
Manchester United were linked with several different transfer names in the summer amid the Red Devils’ first-team squad rebuild under Ruben Amorim at Old Trafford.
Ineos and Sir Jim Ratcliffe showed their support for United manager Ruben Amorim by entering into a summer spending spree and bringing in five new players.
United splashed out on high-profile transfers during the summer window, with the Red Devils landing Benjamin Sesko, Matheus Cunha and Bryan Mbeumo.
The Red Devils also brought in Paraguayan prospect Diego Leon, while United committed to a deadline-day move for Senne Lammens earlier this month.

Ineos and Sir Jim Ratcliffe decided against re-signing Alvaro Carreras for Man Utd ahead of Real Madrid’s transfer
Alvaro Carreras was part of the Manchester United youth academy and the Spanish-born defender was loaned out to multiple clubs during his time at Old Trafford.
United made the decision to offload the 22-year-old left-back to Benfica on loan in 2024, with Alvaro Carreras’ move later made permanent at the Portuguese club.
However, Carreras did well during his spell with Benfica and boyhood club Real Madrid made the decision to snap up the former United talent in the summer.
Real Madrid agreed a deal worth £43m (€50m) for the former Benfica star and Carreras has already impressed with his return to the Spanish capital.
According to Defensa Central, Madrid believe that Carreras has been ‘astonishing’ so far and the ‘player’s value has already risen’ to at ‘least €80m’ in their eyes.
Real Madrid’s stance on Alvaro Carreras and how Man Utd could have signed him back if Ineos and Sir Jim Ratcliffe had acted
Defensa Central reports that Real Madrid ‘wouldn’t want to sell’ Alvaro Carreras even if an offer of around €80m came in for the former Galicia international.
It is believed that Los Blancos view the former Benfica player as a long-term prospect at the club and he still has ‘enormous room for improvement.’
United did benefit from Madrid’s purchase of Carreras, with the Red Devils receiving a 20 per cent fee on the value outside of the £5m that Benfica paid for the player.
However, the Red Devils did have a reported buyback clause option of around £16.7m for Carreras and United could have scuppered Madrid’s move in July.
