The list of suitors in Marcus Rashford continues to grow as his exit seems increasingly likely.

Manchester United are having to endure a circus around Marcus Rashford this month with what seems like every club in Europe throwing their hat into the ring.

West Ham United are the latest club to be linked with Rashford, with David Moyes’ former side asking to be kept in the know.

It is thought AC Milan are leading the race, promising Rashford that he will be built around as the key function of the Rossoneri’s team under Sergio Conceicao.

However, now Rashford’s dream destination this month has potentially become a possibility.

Barcelona make approach for Marcus Rashford

On Friday evening the news broke from Spain that Barcelona had joined the race for Rashford.

Journalist Toni Juanmarti tweeted, claiming the Catalan giants were now prepared to go all out to sign Rashford.

It was claimed that Barcelona will bid to secure the 27-year-old on loan until the end of the season.

Additionally, Italian journalist Daniele Longo reinforced the claims from Spain – reporting that Rashford’s agent – his brother Dwaine Maynard – was in Spain on Friday to discuss the move.

Finally, Fabrizio Romano also revealed that Barcelona had been informed of the conditions of a potential loan deal for Rashford – however, emphasised that it was early stages and no decision had been taken.

Rashford once helped Manchester United frighten the Camp Nou

The last time Barcelona got to see Rashford in action, it was 2023 and United managed a 2-2 draw at the Camp Nou.

In the game, Rashford was the standout performer on the night as he scored a brilliant goal and also created the other by way of Jules Kounde’s own goal.

This performance left Spanish media in awe of United’s No.10, with Marca praising Rashford as being “frightening”.

The report added: “Rashford is in the type of form that could see another rich club come to United with a blank chequebook and take the English striker.

“His numbers are frightening and the feeling he left at the Camp Nou is that of a striker capable of changing a game on his own. He shook the entire Barcelona defence and was pivotal to both United goals.”

Now, almost two years on from this and Barcelona has joined the race to bring the player they were wowed by to Spain in a bargain move.
