Manchester United are close to completing their first piece of major January transfer business.
The Red Devils are looking to trim expenditure to comply with the Premier League’s rules on Profit and Sustainability.
Manchester United’s owners, including Sir Jim Ratcliffe, are tasked with making several changes, including offloading some of the side’s highest-earners.
This could mean that the mid-season window is the beginning of the end at Old Trafford for one Manchester United academy graduate.

West Ham make Marcus Rashford transfer enquiry
Marcus Rashford’s future with the Red Devils has been the subject of much speculation.
The struggling forward has barely featured under Ruben Amorim, consequently, Rashford is wanted by Borussia Dortmund, Juventus and AC Milan.
However, according to talkSPORT, another club has entered the mix. West Ham have enquired about the Englishman’s potential availability and have ‘asked to be kept informed’ of his developing situation.
The Hammers recently sacked Julen Lopetegui and confirmed Graham Potter has taken charge. Potter’s preference is obviously to add attackers to his options, and the Londoners clearly feel United’s number 10 is a realistic target.
AC Milan want Rashford loan but Hammers could be smarter move
Although Rashford’s agent have held talks with several European clubs, it is AC Milan who are considered the saga’s frontrunners.
AC Milan believe they can offer Rashford a place in their squad and the oppotuntity he needs to reignite his career.
However, although the lure of the San Siro could be too good to down, Rashford may be wise to give consideration to move to London.
West Ham may not be as illustrious as the famous Rossoneri but two recent signings have proven the London Stadium can be a smart destination for any struggling Red Devil.
Aaron Wan-Bissaka and Jesse Lingard’s recent stints with West Ham worked out well for both the players and the club.
| West Ham Stats | Wan-Bissaka | Lingard |
| Games | 20 | 16 |
| Goals | 2 | 9 |
| Assists | 0 | 4 |
| Yellow Cards | 1 | 3 |
| Red Cards | 0 | 0 |
Wan-Bissaka has become the side’s first choice full-back and although Lingard now plays in South Korea, he will probably regret his decision not to return to London in 2021 after contributing to 13 goals in just 16 games.
Rashford could have the chance to follow in his former teammate’s footsteps, and, should he agree to become Potter’s first marquee signing, either this month, or in the summer, would send shockwaves throughout the rest of Europe.
