After signing Matheus Cunha, Manchester United have been linked with several Premier League players this summer.
Following an awful Premier League campaign, there has been a clear shift in transfer philosophy at Manchester United.
This has been dictated by the head coach, with Ruben Amorim demanding Premier League proven players, in an effort to sign players who are physically capable of playing in the division.
So far, Ineos have given Amorim his demand, with United signing Matheus Cunha this summer.
Meanwhile, United are close to going two for two, as a third bid for Bryan Mbeumo reaches the demands of Brentford at £70m.
Next on United’s list appears to be a striker, and this could also see the shopping done in the Premier League.
Manchester United interested in signing Nicolas Jackson this summer
Should Mbeumo be secured, United will now be looking to sign a new striker this summer to complete a brand new front three.
This has seen several options linked, most recently, United have been offered the chance to sign Nicolas Jackson from Chelsea, as exclusively revealed by United in Focus.
Now, speaking with United in Focus transfer correspondent, Graeme Bailey, we understand that this is a move interesting the club.
“With Jackson, we know that he was offered and now we can confirm that United’s footballing department really do like him, in theory.”
United in Focus also understand that this interest is linked with Chelsea’s interest in Alejandro Garnacho.
“However, they are wary of the cost of signing the player from Chelsea. United have internally discussed a move with Garnacho being sold to Chelsea in return, as they do like him.
“Garnacho wants to stay in England, as we know with Villa and Arsenal liking him, with Tottenham also interested but they are nowhere near as advanced as Chelsea.
“United have their value on Jackson and they won’t go over that. Just because Garnacho goes one way doesn’t mean United will pay £80m for Jackson for instance. They are very reluctant to overpay for anyone but he is on the radar and has been offered to them.”
Chelsea paid £30m to sign Jackson two years ago but would probably want close to double to sell this summer.

Links to Jackson will not be exciting to United fans, as he would be effectively arriving as a Chelsea reject as they replaced him this summer with Liam Delap and also Joao Pedro.
Jackson scored just 13 goals last season for Chelsea, which on the surface is not a huge upgrade on Hojlund, but the Senegal international does impress in one factor.
Jackson accumulated 31 non-penalty expected goals over his two seasons at Chelsea, with only Alexander Isak (32.8), Mohamed Salah (33.7) and Erling Haaland (41.7) having more according to Statman Dave.
This suggests that Jackson has a knack of being in the right place at the right time, unlike Hojlund, and therefore the goals should follow when he improves his finishing.
Jackson is still growing as a striker, yet has scored 24 goals in the Premier League over his two seasons which isn’t a terrible return.
There would certainly be worse deals for the Red Devils to do up front.
