Fabrizio Romano has provided a latest update on Wout Weghorst‘s potential transfer move to Manchester United.
Manchester United must find an agreement with his current loan club Besiktas, as Burnley do not possess a recall clause.
Romano says all three clubs are now ‘confident’ of finding an agreement for the striker.
While he says it is getting closer, there is still no firm timeframe for a deal to be concluded.

Wout Weghorst to Manchester United
Writing on Twitter, Romano explained: “Manchester United have scheduled a new round of talks for Wout Weghorst deal. Besiktas insist they have to agree on compensation as they’re looking for replacement.
“All parties confident as clubs positions are closer — but still waiting to get it done.”
Weghorst is reportedly desperate to seal his move to Old Trafford, with one Turkish journalist claiming the striker would even pay out of his own pocked to make it happen.
Manchester United are currently light of options up front after Cristiano Ronaldo‘s exit, while manager Erik ten Hag has admitted that Anthony Martial cannot handle the workload on his own.
United are shopping in the loan market due to a lack of funds, aiming to sign a long-term striker in the summer, with three names reportedly on the club’s shortlist.
