Manchester United have placed a keen focus on signing young players with Ineos at the helm and more may come in 2025.
Manchester United’s financial situation is far from ideal with Ineos recently announcing new redundancies at Old Trafford.
The days of splashing enormous money on the likes of Paul Pogba and Antony appear to be long gone under Sir Jim Ratcliffe.
United now appear to be focusing on signing younger players for the future with a keen focus placed on the development stage.
United signed Chido Obi, Sekou Kone, Samuel Lusale and James Overy during the summer window whilst teenager Ayden Heaven recently left Arsenal for United.
That approach is likely to continue in 2025 with United already interested in signing one exciting talent.

Manchester United trialist suffers setback
Charlotte FC talent Nimfasha Berchimas is on United’s radar and potentially primed for a big move in 2025.
United took Berchimas on trial in December amid strong interest from other clubs.
Berchimas posted a photo from Old Trafford as he scored against Burnley in an Under-18 clash.
The 17-year-old has already made three MLS appearances for Charlotte FC and has caught the eye for the United States at Under-20 level.
Winger Berchimas is now learning from Wilfried Zaha at Charlotte FC but United’s plans to keep tabs on Berchimas have suffered a blow.
As reported by Carroll Rogers Watson of The Charlotte Ledger, Berchimas has picked up a foot injury.
A broken bone meant that Berchimas underwent surgery on Thursday and is now facing around three months out of action.
That is a major setback for the teenager and will keep him on the sidelines until the summer transfer window in Europe.
United may well have been looking to sign Berchimas this summer but this injury blow means that any move may need to be delayed.
Rushing into a deal when it’s unclear just how well Berchimas has recovered from this injury may be ill-advised for United with Ineos keen to cut costs.
It may only be March, but this injury may mean that United and Berchimas have to wait until 2026 to strike a deal as he recovers from this blow.
Bayern Munich have looked at Berchimas
One factor United will take into account is that Bayern Munich have also been tracking Berchimas.
As noted on Charlotte FC’s official website in 2022, Bayern invited Berchimas for training with their academy.
“We had a very open and professional dialogue with FC Bayern in order to approve this training experience. My interaction with the FC Bayern staff throughout Nimfa’s visit was very good. They were very accommodating,” said Charlotte FC’s Executive Academy Director Bryan Scales.
Nearly three years on, Berchimas has featured in Major League Soccer and Bayern surely still have one eye on the wide man.
Berchimas made a real impact in his trial spell with United and Ineos won’t want to miss out to another major European club.
There is much for United to ponder with any move for Berchimas, with this injury throwing something of a spanner in the works ahead of the summer.
