Manchester United are continuing to explore the domestic market for young talent as well as looking abroad.

Ineos are scouring the market for top young talents from around the world, with a deal struck for South American wonderkid Cristian Orozco.

United fans are excited about the move for Colombia’s under-17 captain, who will officially join in July 2026.

Simultaneously, United are speculated to be working on another deal much closer to home, for Derby County prospect Charlie Hardy.

Hardy was linked to United in early July, and The MEN reports he has now received Premier League ratification to join the club.

Charlie Hardy confirms Derby exit

Charlie Hardy has confirmed his departure from Derby County, via a post on Instagram.

The young goalkeeper is now expected to confirm his move to the Red Devils in the coming days.

He posted: “After almost a decade at Derby County, the time has now come for a new chapter.

It’s been an incredible nine years here. I just want to thank everyone at the club who has supported me throughout my journey and helped me to become the player and person I am today.

I’m grateful for all the memories I’ve made throughout my time at the club and the lads I’ve played alongside, I wish everyone at the club the best for the future. 🐏🖤🤍

Charlie Hardy, one for the future

Charlie Hardy, 16, has represented Derby County at under-18s level, where he has kept one clean sheet in four appearances, captaining the team in a win over Leeds at the end of last season.

Hardy has five caps for England’s under-16s side, where he was selected by former Manchester United academy coach Neil Ryan.

The journey to Manchester United’s first team from the under-18s one is likely to be a long one for the young goalkeeper, amid the high demands of being Red Devils’ number one.

Time is on Hardy’s side, and pending his move being formalised, he should begin his journey with the under-18s this season, and may even feature in the FA Youth Cup.
