Manchester United are keen on signing Lecce’s Patrick Dorgu but the Danish press don’t appear to be excited by the prospect.
Ruben Amorim suffered another testing home defeat as Manchester United boss on Sunday.
United were beaten 3-1 by Brighton and Hove Albion, suffering yet another loss at Old Trafford.
That reverse may have just sparked a real desire inside United to bring in some reinforcements.
Outgoing deals need to materialise but United are keen to land a left wing back who really suits Amorim’s 3-4-3 system.
United are in talks to sign Patrick Dorgu but the Lecce wing back is in demand elsewhere ahead of the January deadline.

Danish press on Patrick Dorgu to Manchester United
United face competition from Napoli for Dorgu but will hope to win the race as Lecce seek £34million for his signature.
The 20-year-old has become one of the top talents in Italian football and his potential has been recognised in Denmark.
Dorgu won the Danish Talent of the Year award for 2024, following in Rasmus Hojlund’s footsteps.
The Danish media understandably want to see Dorgu become a star and seemingly have concerns about him joining United.
BT sports editor Lasse Vøge has shared his fears after hearing that Dorgu could join United.
Vøge fears that Dorgu would be so heavily scrutinised at United that it could be ‘damaging’ for his long-term prospects.
Vøge adds that the pressure at United is ‘relentless’ and pointed to criticism around Hojlund as an example of what Dorgu could receive.
“I would strongly warn Patrick Dorgu against going to United, as it is a club that is undergoing a huge rebuild that will take at least a couple of years,” said Vøge.
“It’s not a good place to come in as a young player because every mistake at the moment is punished mercilessly by the media.
“We can see from Rasmus Højlund right now how damaging it can be for a young player’s career to join a team that is constantly snapping at the weather.
“At United, there is a magnifying glass on all players, who are constantly being turned and turned, and there is relentless pressure in playing for a club with so many fans when they perform poorly,” he added.
Manchester United meeting takes place
United will press ahead with a move though and reports in Italy suggest that Dorgu is interested in a move.
Talks are taking place in Italy and Italian reporter Luca Bendoni has now shared an interesting video.
The clip shows United’s Director of Football Negotiations Matt Hargreaves leaving a building in Italy after talks with Lecce.
It’s suggested that intermediary agents Frank Trimboli and Leon Angel from CAA Base were also in attendance.
United are trying to accelerate the move for Dorgu and leave Napoli in the dust ahead of the January deadline.
United will also hope that Dorgu isn’t paying too much attention to the media back home in Denmark, with the youngster a potentially key addition for Amorim.
