Manchester United’s chances of signing Newcastle United left-back Lewis Hall may have just improved.
Alongside the expected midfield overhaul this summer, Ineos will be shopping for a long-term successor to Luke Shaw at left-back.
United have been linked with Lewis Hall as a potential option, and Newcastle United’s underwhelming Premier League campaign means they may be forced to sell key players.
There was some tension between Hall and Eddie Howe when the young left-back was dropped to the bench, and the 21-year-old has now commented on the situation.

Which Newcastle player would you want Manchester United to sign the most?💰
United have been linked with Tonali, Gordon, Thiaw, Hall and Guimarães. But which makes most sense?
Lewis Hall was ‘not pleased’ with Eddie Howe snub
Hall was left on the bench by Howe for Newcastle’s Premier League matches against Arsenal and Brighton.
As quoted by ShieldsGazette, Hall admitted he was not happy with Howe’s decision to leave him out.
“I think any player never wants to be on the bench,” Hall said.
“I think it goes without saying I wasn’t best pleased but, like I said, everyone goes through their moments in football. It’s just about how you deal with them. I was back in the team today, so I was happy.”
According to BBC Sport, Howe is staying put with Newcastle next season despite failing to qualify for European football. If Hall is looking for a move away, it could be a golden opportunity for United.

Lewis Hall contract details amid Man Utd interest
If United are going to complete a deal for Hall, it won’t be easy as Newcastle have full negotiating power.
Hall has a contract at St James’ Park until 2029, and he was signed by the Magpies from Chelsea for £35m. Newcastle will want to make a profit on the young defender.
According to Geordie Boot Boys, Hall is only on a wage of around £41,000 per week, so United could offer the England international a significant pay rise to come to Old Trafford.
Given Hall’s frustration towards Howe, the player could also push for a move internally, which would apply pressure on Newcastle to agree a fee.
