Alejandro Garnacho tipped to cause havoc with ex-Manchester United striker if he makes late exit, he ‘fits in perfectly’

Manchester United could sell Alejandro Garnacho before the January transfer deadline and may join a title charge with Napoli in Serie A.

The January transfer window is entering its final few days and Manchester United have some business to complete.

Ayden Heaven will be joining United from Arsenal with the teenager defender ready to leave his boyhood club.

That feels like a major coup for United, especially having already pinched Chido Obi from the Gunners over the summer.

Lecce wing back Patrick Dorgu is also set to join United in a major addition for Ruben Amorim.

United are also looking to let some players go and after Antony signed for Real Betis, we could see some departures in the coming days.

Alejandro Garnacho backed to shine alongside ex-Manchester United striker

United would no doubt love to offload Marcus Rashford before the deadline given that he has been exiled by Amorim.

Casemiro is available on loan amid interest from Roma, but the big-money deal could see Alejandro Garnacho leave.

The Argentinian is a wanted man having so far failed to really convince under Amorim.

Napoli are interested in signing Garnacho as they look to replace Khvicha Kvaratskhelia following his move to Paris Saint-Germain.

Garnacho is viewed as an ideal fit on the left flank and he would be joining a title race under Antonio Conte.

Agent Alejandro Camano – who represents Garnacho’s international teammate and Inter Milan star Lautaro Martinez – knows all about Conte from Martinez’s time under him at Inter.

Camano has been quoted by Area Napoli as saying that he thinks Garnacho will fit ‘perfectly’ alongside Romelu Lukaku in Naples.

Former United striker Lukaku is spearheading Napoli’s title charge and Camano thinks Garnacho will complement him in the final third.

Camano also believes that Conte is simply brilliant at getting the best out of his players, seemingly feeling that he can unlock another level in Garnacho’s game.

“Let me say one thing about Garnacho: he is a very young footballer, his mother is Argentine, his father is Spanish. At Atletico Madrid he stood out for his talent, speed and personality,” said Camano.

“Then Manchester United took him and he became an important player. Lukaku is a great player, Garnacho is a complementary player and he fits in perfectly with Romelu. Conte knows how to make the most of his men,” he added.

Napoli title win would sting a little

Garnacho hasn’t truly fit in under Amorim just yet and that could see him moved on in order to bring in a huge fee.

A move to Napoli would see Garnacho join forces not only with Lukaku, but also with Scott McTominay.

McTominay left United for Napoli over the summer and has been making a big impact with his goalscoring ability from midfield.

McTominay knows all about Garnacho from their time together at United and they could join forces once again whilst teaming up with Lukaku.

The combination of a promising youngster being ushered out, a striker who never quite lived up to his potential and a fan favourite midfielder all winning the title together away from United would sting a little.

Many would still be pleased, especially for Garnacho and McTominay, but a title win for the ex-United trio may leave a feeling of ‘what could have been’.
