Michael Carrick has claimed that Manchester United players under Sir Alex Ferguson held a common view on an underrated former teammate they all played alongside.
The 44-year-old Manchester United legend looked back to his prolific playing days during a sitdown chat with Sky Sports ahead of the Liverpool match on Sunday.
Michael Carrick enjoyed a superb playing spell at Old Trafford after former manager Sir Alex Ferguson signed him from Premier League side Tottenham in 2006.
During his time at United, the former midfielder lifted five Premier League titles, a Champions League trophy, a Europa League, an FA Cup and three League Cups.

Michael Carrick, who retired from football in 2018, did share the pitch with Ji-sung Park at Old Trafford during the Sir Alex Ferguson era at the Premier League club.
Ferguson has held Ji-sung Park in high regard and the iconic former Manchester United manager has felt the South Korean was an underrated player under him.
Park arrived at Old Trafford from PSV Eindhoven in 2005 and the former Red Devils star lifted four Premier League titles, a Champions League and three League Cups.
When asked who was an underrated player that he played alongside, Carrick told Sky Sports: “Underrated? I think a lot of us always say Ji, really.
“Just as an all-round footballer. He was so good. Such a team player, but yet so good. So, Ji’s the one we looked at and say that he is underrated.”

Outside of the reputation of Ji-sung Park, United legend Carrick has often found himself deemed as an ‘underrated’ player after his prolific spell at the Red Devils.
Carrick was asked about others putting him in the same underrated bracket as United cult hero Park and the interim boss hilariously moved the conversation on.
“Yeah, maybe. I don’t know,” he responded.
“Can we talk about something else [Laughs]?”
Carrick returned to Old Trafford in January and took charge as interim head coach after Man Utd sacked Ruben Amorim as the Premier League club’s manager.
