Manchester United have their very own Erling Haaland and Phil Foden, the potential is ‘scary’

Manchester United’s academy has always produced a plethora of talent, but there haven’t been many better sides than the current U18s.

Last season, the young Red Devils won the league title and beat rivals Manchester City to the trophy in a near-flawless season, which saw a few star-studded names emerge.

The likes of Ethan Wheatley, Jack Fletcher, Gabriele Biancheri and Elyh Harrison were all electric for Adam Lawrence’s side.

Now, they’ve picked up where they left off for the 24/25 campaign, and despite losing a couple of their existing side to first-team loans, have also made some fine new additions.

One includes Chido Obi-Martin who was signed from Arsenal, who has started life in a United jersey impeccably, and who already looks to be forming a formidable duo with yet another ludicrous U18 starlet.

Chido-Obi Martin and Shea Lacey partnership already forming?

Obi-Martin lined up for the second time in a United shirt this weekend in a 6-0 win vs Nottingham Forest U18s – and he stole the show.

Chido bagged a hat-trick for United, in no less than 14 minutes, which more than justifies all the hype surrounding him at Carrington.

After netting his third, he celebrated with arguably the most talented prospect in Lawrence’s side – Shea Lacey.

The winger took to Twitter after the game to show his appreciation for Chido – and to potentially foreshadow a ludicrous partnership that’s formulating.

Chido x Lacey could be Haaland and Foden-esque

The pair boast striking similarities to two of the Premier League’s most deadly players, who unfortunately both feature for the blue side of Manchester – Erling Haaland and Phil Foden.

Chido, much like Haaland, appears to be an absolute cheat code of a striker. When he plays, he seems to be on the scoresheet – much like the Norwegian.

Lacey has drawn direct comparisons to Foden already. He’s predominantly a right-winger but also has the capabilities of playing attacking midfielder and left-wing. His agility, wand of a left foot and eye for a goal also back up the comparison.

This could be a glimpse into a ‘scary’ future at Old Trafford, as Tyler Fletcher commented on Lacey’s Instagram post – but it really is just the beginning.

Amid a bleak present with the first-team squad, at least we can still say the future does definitely look bright at Manchester United – particularly with these two around.
