Ruben Amorim witnessed first-hand from the Old Trafford touchline that one Manchester United player had a real impact on his tactical system against Wolves.
Manchester United hosted Wolves at Old Trafford and the Red Devils failed to capitalise on their chances against Vitor Pereira’s men in the final third.
Ruben Amorim’s men went into half-time with a 0-0 scoreline on the board on Sunday before Wolves made the all-important breakthrough against United.
Pablo Sarabia broke the deadlock and scored what would be the eventual winner in the second half after Andre Onana was unable to keep out his stunning free-kick.
The Red Devils were left chasing the match against Vitor Pereira’s side and Amorim’s men fell to a 1-0 Premier League defeat on the weekend at Old Trafford.
United are 14th in the Premier League table and 15th-place Wolves have moved level on points with the Red Devils after their win on Sunday afternoon.
The Red Devils have suffered their 15th defeat in the 2024-25 campaign and United have only picked up 10 wins, with only five matches remaining in the league season.
United are on course for their worst Premier League finish of all time and Amorim’s men could even fail to finish in the top half of the table before the campaign is out.

Man Utd fans would have missed a crucial stat from Harry Amass’ performance in Ruben Amorim’s tactical system vs Wolves
Harry Amass received a rare start for the Red Devils on Sunday afternoon after Ruben Amorim rotated his team following Manchester United’s win over Lyon.
The 18-year-old United youth academy product has been knocking on the door of the Red Devils first team and he has been gaining valuable experience this season.
Harry Amass impressed United fans with his superb performance and the Red Devils defender played the full 90 minutes in Ruben Amorim’s tactical system for United.
The United talent started in the left wing-back role and Patrick Dorgu was deployed on the opposite flank, with Amass showing his attacking and defensive qualities.
Amass, who is under contract with United until 2027, has made three appearances in the Premier League and one in the Europa League and is making a name for himself.
The United full-back excelled in one area with his display against Wolves, despite Amorim’s men suffering a 1-0 defeat in the Premier League clash at Old Trafford.
Statman Dave on social media platform X, formerly Twitter, highlighted that Amass made more ball recoveries (seven) than any of his United teammates in the match.
What Ruben Amorim made of Harry Amass’ Man Utd performance against Wolves in the Premier League defeat at Old Trafford
United manager Amorim admitted that Red Devils youngsters Harry Amass and Tyler Fredricson impressed with their respective displays in Sunday’s 1-0 defeat.
“I think they played really well,” he said after the match, as per Manchester United’s official website.
“We need to score goals so that the kids have better memories. These days are really disappointing.
“We were better than the opponents but if you don’t score goals, you don’t win games. They deserve better memories from their first game.
“They did so many good things but people will just remember the result. That is the price of playing for a massive club like this.”
United will now return to Premier League action on Sunday afternoon against Bournemouth, with kick-off slated for 2pm UK time at the Vitality Stadium.
