Senne Lammens finally made his Manchester United debut on Saturday, replacing Altay Bayindir in the starting line-up.
Ruben Amorim finally made the decision every Manchester United fan has been desperate to see this season when he dropped Altay Bayindir against Sunderland.
Bayindir has been a disaster this season for United, making multiple errors and basically inspiring zero confidence, which rippled through the team.
In place of Bayindir, Amorim gave Senne Lammens his first start, and it immediately looked like the right decision after the Belgian was pivotal in the three points as United beat Sunderland 2-0.
Victory was a non-negotiable for Manchester United against Sunderland, and Amorim has earned himself more time to turn things around by picking up the three points here.
Although going forward, he should know Lammens simply must start.

Manchester United finally have a new number one in Senne Lammens
Lammens was very impressive for United on his debut, immediately looking the part, whereas Bayindir and even Andre Onana have not over the past 12 months.
Goalkeeping has been the biggest weakness on Amorim’s side this season, with the Turkish international often fumbling the ball into his own net; however, Lammens has solved United’s problem.
Lammens was perfect against Sunderland, making three big saves, including one that was a one-on-one situation late in the game where he used his feet.
More notably, Lammens was dominant in the air, claiming crosses, and ultimately, he inspired confidence throughout the rest of the team.
Lammens’ performance is exactly what United needed, and his debut has finally seen the Red Devils replace David de Gea after failing to with Onana.
Manchester United players will be thrilled with Senne Lammens
Lammens’ debut was overdue, as Bayindir should really have been dropped weeks ago, as his performances have been terrible this season.
Fans were delighted to see Lammens in the starting line-up, and so were his teammates.
Journalist Samuel Luckhurst tweeted after the game to share that he saw Matthijs de Ligt, Luke Shaw, and Harry Maguire all head straight to Lammens at the final whistle, giving him his credit, which is definitely due.
Having a strong goalkeeper can fix a lot of problems in a team, and Lammens certainly raised the performance of his teammates.
United have the De Gea replacement, which has been long overdue; now, Amorim will hope that a corner has been turned.
