Manchester United fans finally had their say on Senne Lammens after Ruben Amorim handed the summer signing his hotly anticipated club debut against Sunderland.
Senne Lammens arrived at Old Trafford on deadline day in September and was Manchester United’s fifth summer signing in the 2025 summer transfer window.
The 23-year-old Belgian shot-stopper left Belgian Pro League side Royal Antwerp after United paid an initial fee of £18.1m and agreed to add-ons in the transfer.
United’s signing of Lammens came as the Red Devils pursued a new shot-stopping option after the difficulties of Altay Bayindir and Andre Onana under Ruben Amorim.
Andre Onana signed for Super Lig outfit Trabzonspor on loan in September after he lost his place as Red Devils No 1 under United manager Ruben Amorim.
Despite United landing Lammens from Royal Antwerp last month, Amorim had stuck with Altay Bayindir as his main option between the sticks until the Sunderland tie.

Altay Bayindir was dropped to the bench and Ruben Amorim made the big call to start Manchester United shot-stopper Senne Lammens on Saturday afternoon.
United fans on social media platform X, formerly known as Twitter, welcomed the strong showing from Lammens on his Red Devils debut in the Premier League.
One Red Devils supporter said: “Seeing Lammens push[ed] that Sunderland player trying to obstruct him during a set-piece/throw-in and I’m already loving him.”
“Lammens has [brought] calmness to that backline,” another X user wrote.
Somebody else tweeted: “Senne Lammens [is giving] me the safety I’ve been looking for since [David de Gea]. Hopefully, he continues like this.”
A fourth United fan posted: “See how commanding Lammens looks? His distribution [itself is] better [than] Bayindir [on its] own.”
“Senne Lammens is constantly [barking] instructions to the back 3/5. That’s confidence, that’s calming,” someone else commented.
While a sixth added: “Can somebody share the clip of Lammens claiming the ball? I want to see it again and again.”
And a seventh suggested: “Lammens is 100 [per cent] way better than Bayindir/Onana; FACT [sic].”
“Lammens is the missing piece of the puzzle,” an eighth claimed.
