England midfielder Kobbie Mainoo has shared an insight into his dynamic with Casemiro ahead of his Manchester United teammate’s planned Old Trafford exit.
Kobbie Mainoo has climbed back into the Manchester United starting XI under Michael Carrick on a regular basis after Ruben Amorim was sacked in January.
The 21-year-old Three Lions international has been at the heart of the Red Devils midfield, with Michael Carrick playing him in the pivot alongside Casemiro.
Casemiro, much like Man Utd teammate Mainoo, has enjoyed a solid run of form under Carrick after the United legend’s return to Old Trafford in January.

Kobbie Mainoo’s relationship with Casemiro ahead of Man Utd matches in the 2025-26 campaign
Kobbie Mainoo and Casemiro have both impressed together in the Manchester United midfield in the 2025-26 Premier League campaign at Old Trafford.
The England midfielder had fallen out of favour in the Man Utd starting XI under Ruben Amorim earlier in the season and was limited in his first-team minutes.
However, Mainoo has been able to put himself back on track since ex-United manager Amorim was axed and climbed back into the England national team as well.
Speaking to Man Utd’s official magazine, Mainoo revealed that he speaks with Casemiro every time before a match and his teammate has one message for him.
“At the same time, it’s still football, it’s trying to have fun,” he said, as per Manchester United’s official website.
“I’m always speaking to Casemiro and he always says before a game, every time: ‘Let’s have fun, bro.’”

Kobbie Mainoo and Casemiro’s pre-match interaction is more than present on the pitch for Man Utd
The rapport that Mainoo and Casemiro have built with one another has translated to their dynamic on the pitch under Michael Carrick in the 2025-26 campaign at the club.
Casemiro’s exit from Old Trafford in the summer is not only a major blow for United fans, but also for midfield partner Mainoo ahead of the 2026-27 season at the club.
Mainoo deserves huge praise for his career resurgence in the second half of the campaign, but Casemiro has helped facilitate part of that with his midfield dynamic.
The wholesome interaction that the pair have shared pre-match has shown how important their chemistry has been for the double pivot to work so effectively.
Casemiro will be sorely missed at Man Utd, but the 34-year-old Brazilian midfielder has played his part in leaving a lasting imprint on England star Mainoo.
