Manchester United are flying right now, and this is the perfect time to add goal-hungry youngsters into the mix.
Ruben Amorim has been very cautious early this season with his team selection. He took a whole month to start new signing Senne Lammens while the new signing adjusted.
Amorim has also been very reticent to include young players in the team this season, even on the bench.
This is despite Amorim’s record of handing debuts to 27 youngsters at Sporting during his time with the Portuguese club.
Last season Amorim gave opportunities to Chido Obi, Harry Amass and Tyler Fredricson, along with Ayden Heaven, a January signing from Arsenal.
This season Obi has not figured at all, Amass is on loan, while Fredricson has not appeared since the loss to Grimsby, which remains Heaven’s only start this season.
Now with Manchester United winning three games in a row, the environment around the first team is a lot more stable. The timing is right for Amorim to now promote from within.

Biancheri and Obi are ready
Manchester United scored four goals in the win over Brighton at the weekend. The team has netted 15 in the league this season, with the highest scoring teams level on 17 (Chelsea, City, Tottenham).
United should now double down on this moment of positivity and promote two prolific youngsters from the under-21s.
Gabriele Biancheri is a Wales under-21 international who netted a hat-trick at the weekend as Manchester United’s under-21s beat Tottenham.
Diego Leon stole the show with a solo goal, but it was Biancheri who led the 4-1 demolition.
Chido Obi scored for Manchester United’s under-21s in midweek in the National League Cup over Rochdale, continuing his own good form.
Obi and Biancheri have scored a combined 10 goals this season already, both level with five goals each.
It is hard to split them, and quite honestly, both Obi and Biancheri should be rewarded for their efforts.
The perfect situation
Ruben Amorim entered the season on rocky ground despite a positive pre-season. He still had not won back-to-back games, and in late September, many fans wondered if it would ever happen.
Amorim has now won three in a row, and is targeting more. One way to do this is by adding an extra goal threat or two on the bench.
United are creating a hatful of chances right now, and need to lean into the attacking flair the team is currently demonstrating.
Bringing either Obi or Biancheri off the bench for the final 10 minutes in games will lift the crowd and add to the feelgood factor around the club if they score.
They should not be held back much longer, now is the time to bring them in.
