Casemiro might not be staying under the Ineos regime, but Sir Jim Ratcliffe’s men have allowed one of the Manchester United midfielder’s predictions to play out.
The 34-year-old Brazilian midfielder will leave Old Trafford in the summer, despite a stunning resurgence in form for Manchester United during the 2025-26 campaign.
Man Utd confirmed in January that Casemiro’s contract with the Premier League club would end in June and the Red Devils would not trigger his 12-month extension.
Casemiro has been linked with Saudi Arabia in the past and the five-time Champions League midfielder will be a free agent in the summer once his current deal expires.

Casemiro’s Kobbie Mainoo prediction now has a springboard after Ineos’ contract call at Man Utd
Casemiro has enjoyed a second half of the 2025-26 Premier League season alongside Kobbie Mainoo in the heart of the Manchester United midfield.
Kobbie Mainoo has also seen a turnaround in form after Michael Carrick’s arrival at Old Trafford opened his route back to the Red Devils starting XI in recent months.
The 21-year-old Red Devils talent extended his long-term future with the Premier League club on Thursday after Mainoo inked a brand-new contract with United.
Casemiro has previously predicted Mainoo’s importance at Old Trafford, so much so that he saw the Stockport-born talent as the “present and the future” of the club.
“I think that he is one of the best No 8s and can be for that for the next 12 years,” he added, as per Manchester United’s official website in April.
“He is a player I really like. He always wants the ball.
“It is true that football can’t change your mentality, but Kobbie demonstrated that he hasn’t changed his focus once.”

Casemiro can now leave Old Trafford knowing that Ineos did not make a major mistake with Man Utd star Kobbie Mainoo
Ineos will be on the hunt for a midfield replacement for Casemiro in the summer, with the new signing tipped to play alongside Kobbie Mainoo for the long term.
Mainoo’s future had been cast in uncertainty after the England international was left fighting for a place in the starting XI under Ruben Amorim in the 2025-26 campaign.
However, the United youth academy prospect will remain at Old Trafford until 2031 and speculation linking him to clubs like Napoli and Chelsea is now all but over.
Mainoo will now be central to the Red Devils’ midfield plans, as Casemiro predicted, and the stage is set for him to have more than a decade-long run in the first team.
Casemiro might not be there to witness Mainoo’s development first-hand on the pitch, but Ineos ensured that his prediction now has room to play out at United.
